Mechanic

Nomadic is hiring! We have expanded into a larger shop and are in need of a mechanic to join our ranks and help us take this incredible niche JDM company to the next level.

Nomadic focuses on the import, sales and refurbishment of a specific 4x4 JDM vehicle released in the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000s: the Mitsubishi Delica L300 and L400. We primarily work on 4 different engines (4D56, 4G63, 4M40 and 6G72) and continue to increase our offerings of power and performance upgrades to these platforms. These vans come with automatic or manual transmissions and a 2-speed transfer case. Most of them come with 4.875 gearing and have the aftermarket compatibility with higher and lower ratios depending on the consumer’s intended usage. Mitsubishi had their headspace right during this period of time and we intend to continue where they left off with even more incredible builds.

We follow an extensive, manufacturer-recommended, 100k mile maintenance routine from start to finish with each of our vans. We’re well versed in sourcing parts, creating aftermarket upgrades and providing consumers with the resources they need to keep their 25-year-old vehicle on the road. Every machine is meticulously examined, upgraded, tuned and tested before it leaves with the customer.

We need someone that is detail oriented and more concerned about the quality of their work than rushing through tasks.

 You must have:

·      A positive attitude

·      1+ years industry experience

·      Your own metric toolbox [nothing fancy necessary]

·      Communication skills

·      A team-oriented approach to work

 Not required but would like to see:

·      A series ASE certification or equivalent

·      Welding/fabrication experience

·      DSM tuning experience

·    Turbo diesel maintenance experience

 Pay is hourly and depends on your level of experience. We are willing to train the right person — please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are interested in the position. JDM vehicles are simple enough to work on with the right guidance.

With all due respect, being strong willed is important when working with a wrench in your hand but if you suffer from “know-it-all syndrome” and can’t take constructive criticism, please look elsewhere for employment.
